#840002

Contents:

  • 16” x 16” (41 cm x 41 cm) game board
  • Twenty-five, 1.5” x 2” (3.75 cm x 5 cm) fish-shaped game cards
  • 120 game markers
  • Game directions on the back of the box

Featured on the beautifully illustrated game board is a large aquarium filled with 78 adorable fish. The aquarium fish have either an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, or object (beginning sound) on their bellies. The children play the game by racing to match their dye-cut fish to the fish in the aquarium according to uppercase letters, lowercase letters, or by beginning sounds. Finding the correct fish as quickly as you can will make this game a favorite with young eager learners! $19.99

1. Play Alone or Use in a Learning Center
I Spy Alphabet Aquarium can be used as individual activity or as a learning center. Let the children match the fish cards to the fish in the aquarium.

2. Two Player: “I Spy” Fishing Race
Together the players count to 3 and then say “go fish.” Then, the players quickly pick up one fish at a time, look at the letter on the back of the fish, and search the aquarium game board for its match. The first player to have placed all 13 fish on the game board is the winner!

3. Two to Four Players: The “Everyone” Fishing Race
The players will take turns turning over a fish card of their choice. As soon as the fish card is turned over, all the player search the aquarium to find the fish that matches the turned over card. The first player to “spy” the fish puts a colored game marker on that fish. The game continues until all 26 fish cards have been turned over. Finally, the players count their game markers that are on the game board. The player with the most game markers on the aquarium is the player who found the most fish, and the winner!
Variation: Instead of turning over one fish at a time, turn over three fish. The rest of the game would continue to play as described above.

4. Play with Uppercase, Lowercase, and Beginning Sounds: “All Skills” Fishing Race
The players will take turns turning over a fish card of their choice. As soon as the fish card is turned over, all the player search the aquarium to find the fish that matches the turned over card. The first player to “spy” the fish puts a colored game marker on that fish. If two or even three players locate their fish at the same time , then each player may place their game marker on that fish. The player with the most game markers on the aquarium is the winner. Variation: Turn over one fish card at a time. The players must locate all three of the matching fish: uppercase, lowercase, and beginning sound fish.
